Dedicated, experienced, and known for a high level of personal care, Dr. Niti Carlson has been practicing in Augusta and Evans since 2001.  Dr. Carlson believes that her focus on gynecology, women’s health, and aesthetic services allows her to provide unrushed and individualized appointments with her patients. 

Dr. Carlson is a native of Augusta and attended Episcopal Day School followed by Evans High School.  She received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Emory University.  She completed her Doctorate of Medicine and OBGyn Residency at the Medical College of Georgia.  Her mother, the late Madhu B. Bhalla, MD, practiced OBGyn in Augusta for 22 years and Dr. Carlson continues her practice legacy, considering herself fortunate to have learned from the best.

Being the mother of three active children, Dr. Carlson is well aware of the demands for women to find a work-life balance and is able to address those needs in her patients.  She enjoys helping patients with the complete spectrum of women’s health ranging from the annual exam to complex gynecologic disorders.  Her minimally invasive surgical interests include operative hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, laparoscopy, laparoscopic assisted hysterectomy, and DaVinci hysterectomy. 

Dr. Carlson is Board Certified and is a Fellow of The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  She is also a member of the American Medical Association and the Georgia OBGyn Society.

Dr. Carlson is married to Chris C. Carlson, MD, a general surgeon, and resides in Columbia County.  She is actively involved in her children’s schools, neighborhood, and church community.  She enjoys everything home & garden, mission work, and most of all family time.
